Spirulina Face Mask for a Firm and Radiant Skin
Spirulina Face Mask for a Firm and Radiant Skin
For radiant skin, you may want to try a mask with Spirulina powder. It allows you to quickly
smooth out mimic wrinkles. Tightening the skin and offering it deeper moisture to the deep dermis
layers creating a visible rejuvenation effect.
It also strengthens the fine structure of the skin around the eyes, absorbing the excess of superficial water which produces “bags” under them.
Spirulina – is the absolute champion among nature’s gifts for its balanced content of amino acids, vitamins, macro-and micronutrients. Not a single plant on our planet has such a concentration of the most valuable nutrients without any toxic elements in it.
Spirulina is composed of high-grade vegetable protein easily absorbed by the pores of your skin
with a naturally balanced complex of vitamins & minerals, which are essential for your skin,
namely: A, C, E, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B8, B9, and B12; mineral complex: phosphorus, potassium,
sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron, manganese, zinc, boron, copper, molybdenum and other trace-minerals, plus biologically active plant components: chlorophyll, phycocyanin, carotenoids.
2 tablespoons of Spirulina powder into 40 ml of water is more than enough for a face mask. 4 tbsp. of water are approx. 40 ml. For a smaller face area use the half.
The consistency of the mask may vary according to the quality of your Spirulina powder, always choose organic Spirulina for achieving the best results.
Apply for 15 to 30 minutes twice a week on cleansed skin. When the mask starts to dry you can rinse it out. If it's the first time you try this mask on, use a smaller amount of time.
If your skin is very dry you can add a few drops of avocado oil, especially recommended for the
care of dehydrated, damaged and fading skin.
At the same time, drinking a smoothie made with Spirulina and avocado will also benefit your skin and complement the mask. Beautiful all the way, inside out!
It will stimulate metabolic processes in the skin, and contribute to the enrichment of skin tissue
with oxygen while stimulating its blood circulation.
Due to the presence of vitamins A and E this oil
adds more antioxidant properties to the mask.
If your skin is too shiny or fat, acne prone, you can add a few lemon juice drops to the Spirulina mask.
To support the effect of the mask from within, a smoothie or drink containing both Spirulina, lemon or lime & mint is recommended too. Check the recipe here.
Lemon + Spirulina combination is also good if your face lacks luster & tone and has a grayish shade.
If your skin is red or irritated, add to the Spirulina mask some aloe vera gel or extract.
Easy-made skin scrub: With some finely ground rice bran (1/2 a teaspoon is enough) or finely ground Chia seeds, you will get an efficient skin scrub to remove dead cells and other impurities. You can also try this “inner scrub" by drinking this delicious Chia & Spirulina drink.
For acne, you can also mix Spirulina with white clay (kaolin powder or similar, 1 teaspoon).
Medical research has proven that Spirulina helps regenerate wounds and enhance regeneration of
the skin; this was a traditional use known by the Kanembu (Tchad).
Sometimes baggy eyes are a sign of an internal imbalance at the kidney level, stress, and burnout.
Treat yourself to some Spirulina taken internally to reduce fatigue and purify your body internally.
The fewer toxins you store the more you will feel better, and look better too. The “blue" Spirulina smoothie, which is actually purple because it contains blueberries, is excellent for detox. Chia seeds slime is also an excellent remedy against puffiness and dark circles under the eyes.
Spirulina is good for liver detox especially after some excesses; if your inner organs are
clean, your skin will soon reveal it. A poor skin condition is always an alarm sign. Try this combination to help detox your liver internally.
The same masks can be applied to hair; usually, an oily skin or acne prone skin corresponds to greasy hair. Brittle hair corresponds to dry skin, hair which lacks lusters is often combined with dull skin, etc.
The particular dark blue-green color of Spirulina powder is due to chlorophyll whilst its phycocyanin content is not only is the origin of its nice blue shade but also a substance that can inhibit cancer cells’ growth.
(Don't worry your face won't turn green after this mask)
Phycocyanins have proven anti-oxidation, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, hepato-protective properties.
It supports the immune system by generating new blood cells, inhibits viral replication, stimulates T-helper cell activity, and increases the production of T-memory cells providing long-term defense against infection.
